The company will be introducing the new X drive AWD to all the hatchbacks that will be released in near future. The new M135 hatchback is all set to be released this year. Along with new Xdrive technology, the company is introducing a new 1 series diesel model in the upcoming auto event. However, the AWD tech makes its way to the 120d xDrive and 135i models.
The xDrive system in the vehicles is similar to that of AWD technology that transfers 60 percent of the power to the rear wheels under normal circumstances. Power distribution is adjusted automatically according to the road conditions and driving requirements.
The new 120dxDrive hatchback gets power from 2.0 liter 4-cylinder turbo charged engine that can deliver 181 BHP.
The new 120d xDrive can go from 0-100 km per hour in just 7.2 seconds. It can attain a top speed of 225 km per hour. According to the company statements, the AWD powered 120d model consumes fuel of around 4.7 liters for 100 kms.
M135i xDrive is featured with a 3.0 liter inline 6-cylinder engine that can deliver 315 hp and torsion of around 450nm. The new M135i xDrive can achieve 0-100 kmh in just 4.9 seconds. Top speed of the vehicle is electronically limited to 250 km/h.
New 114d will be an entry level model that will be included in the company’s lineup and it is powered by a 1.6 liter engine that can develop 235 nm of torque. 114d doesn’t get the x Drive system, but it gets advanced features like BMW efficient dynamics tech package.
